Campus Structure
Georgia Military College is composed of many campuses. Traditional on-ground campuses are located in the following Georgia cities: Augusta, Columbus, Dublin, Fairburn, Madison, Milledgeville, Rockdale, Warner Robins, Valdosta, and Zebulon. Students who attend these campuses can take online courses to supplement their on-ground schedule or take all of their classes through the GMC Global Online College. Their home campus is responsible for all support for these students such as financial aid, advisement, graduation records, payments, etc.
This means that in your class, you could potentially have students from a variety of campuses, all of which have their own way of doing things. These students may ask their graduation coach or Senior Department Chair questions about courses, deadlines, policies, etc. and that person may answer according to the home campus procedures without realizing that the student is asking about an online course. Keep in mind that your students may not realize that there are different withdrawal deadlines and procedures.
Your responsibility is to withdraw that student after he/she has not completed a graded activity for 12 consecutive days and let registrar's office sort out the details. Institutional registrars intercept the withdrawal paperwork and will process those for the student. Those registrars may reach out to you in the event they have questions or corrections to the paperwork need to be made.
When you submit withdrawals for students (Student-Initiated and Non-Attendance), our institutional registrars will handle the withdrawal, and you will receive emails confirming it. It is your responsibility to follow up with the GMC Global Online College Senior Department Chair on students who should be removed from your roster who are still there after a prolonged period of time after you have submitted the paperwork for withdrawal.
Students should be referred to their home campus graduation coach if they have questions that do not directly relate to your course.
